 There are three things in life that are real: God, Human Nature and Laughter, the first two are beyond comprehension...some people must do what they can with the third! Our fact-based story begins with proof that dreams can come true despite the odds. In black and white, our opening scene begins with a blast from the past that divulges a tidbit of what will lie ahead in the life and career of Pete DeLorenzo,(aka Ken Peters his charactors name in the film) as an aspiring comedian and Sydney Fitzberg (Mr. Joe Franklin as “The Mentor”) the man who inspires and assists him in achieving it.

 Clifton, N.J. (1971) - Some thirteen odd years later, Kenny is encountering countless obstacles in his climb to stardom as a professional stand-up comic, working at a two bit job, attending college, and dealing with mishaps and meander, Kenny confronts Sydney (a stocky old hard nosed heckler) in his audience one evening, who uses his seat as his present stage.

 Sydney becomes a re-occurring nightmare in Kenny's life by attending all his gigs and stalking him until a major clash results between the two.  A hysterical yet touching love/hate relationship develops, molding Kenny into the performer that Sydney never attained.

 Kenny's career begins to prosper with the tutoring of Sydney and is interrupted by Kenny's psycho-bitch girlfriend, Maria ("Kimberly Hopkins"), that results in a rocky marriage. She does everything possible to throw animosity between her husband and Sydney.  The friction intensifies and through her jealousy and anxiety, Kenny and Sydney go their separate ways.  As time prevails, Kenny's life and career are drastically affected, resulting in heartbreak and devastation. He then divorces Maria and goes it alone, attempting to carry on his established career without Sydney.

 In Sidney's absence, Kenny realizes the heart felt encouragement and wisdom that was imparted to him, and in Sydney’s absence he feels the emptiness in the years that follow.  Even though his career continues to flourish, he remains unfulfilled without Sydney.

 Out of nowhere a dramatic change occurs when a new and beautiful woman enters into Kenny's life. She is warm and sincere and supportive.  A romantic and loving relationship develops between he and Jenny (“Miss Lisa Landino as the Leading Lady”).  As Kenny's career soars to new horizons, he later conveys his memories and warm feelings of Sydney to Jenny.  One evening after making passionate love to her, Jenny is so moved that she encourages Kenny to look Sydney up and mend the past. Kenny is embarrassed to face him. Out of her love for Ken, she takes it upon herself to locate Sydney.

 In a tear jerking scene Sydney empties all his inner feelings of hurt and anger to Jenny. However the meeting ends up in vain. Later that evening, Jenny tells Kenny of her meeting with Sydney. This results in a big blow out argument between them and Jenny departs into the rainy night in tears. Realizing he was wrong in his actions toward her, he is compelled to seek out Jenny's forgiveness. These two soul mates make up and Ken promises Jenny that he will meet with Sydney.

 As he manages enough courage to come face to face with Sydney, he discovers that Sydney had seemed to disappear from the circuit. Rumor had it, that Sydney had suddenly become ill. Kenny then begins an intensive search for Sydney and eventually finds him living in an old run down apartment. Upon entering, Ken discovers that Sydney is not home and begins poking about only to find facts, clues and articles of Sydney's mysterious, tragic, but triumphant past. He is interrupted by the sounds of Sydney's return. Kenny emotionally exits out the fire escape without ever confronting Sydney. Lastly, the story line builds into a wonderfully dramatic and emotional climax.

 This film is a delightful, romantic comedy-drama and love story all in one that will entertain as well as enlighten the viewer to a true insight and greater respect for the entertainment industry. It is informative as well as illuminating and conveys the behind the scenes, highs and lows, and sacrifices which an artist encounters in the world of show-biz and the life of an aspiring comic. It has a profound message; it is a film with substance and depth.

 "The Mentor" Pronounces a way of Throwing Down a Gauntlet, A Movie at it's Best; A Bolt of Lightning Meant to Shake the Viewer out of there Habits and Complacency, Reminding them not only how Priceless the Arts ought to be... but life and love as well.

 Any potential investors interested in the project please contact our office in order to set up a business meeting. In light of that we are all ready in full-blown Pre-Production and are planning a target date for production and shooting soon to be announced.

 The motion picture, "The Mentor" has a budget and return in mind so we are careful not to sacrifice excellence. This film does not contain action packed car chases, outrageous explosions, or even require any major special effects. This film does however supply adult situational humor, romance, warmth, and reality to capture its audience. The film uses a backdrop of scenes in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Metro New Jersey. The film also utilizes the fantastic views of The Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. The story line is almost virtually assured a profit from Box Office Sales, Video, DVD, Cable and Pay Per View. Also added to that would be the European Market.

 We are seeking to raise the entire cost of production privately. Our goal is to produce a commercially successful film, thereby returning an immediate profit to our investors. The pre-production of the original screenplay is assembled of a very talented and experienced cast, including Major Stars as attachments to the film as well as an accomplished crew. We have set about the process of pre-production with the utmost of care. We have selected every cast and crew member meticulously. We are now searching for the financial resources to complete the project and set production in motion. We have a rock solid foundation and are firmly on the way to making a romantically funny and dramatic film. We feel that the projected culmination of these two attributes will produce a commercially successful moneymaker for all our investors.

 Now is a wonderful time for independent films with all the huge multi-theatre "complex" building screens, specifically tailored for small independents to show alongside Hollywood extravaganzas. The market place has been more than accommodating. Independent Films are a millennial moneymaker to investors in the light that they can be taken directly to the big screen to theaters nation wide. For example, films such as Brothers McMullen, Sex, Lies and Video Tapes, Fargo, Leaving Las Vegas, Full Monty, Coyote Ugly, Summer of Sam and the most popular The Blair Witch Project, just to name a few. As mentioned previously the film will go the gauntlet of national release, Video, DVD, Cable, Pay Per View, and Overseas rights that will ensure to make a profit for all our investors. There is also a very lucrative potential for the soundtrack, including Mr. DeLorenzo's hit single, They All Remind Me Of You, as well as The Legendary “Oldies” and Rock Groups that are under consideration, as well as all those artists who have already been secured for the Project. The film’s musical score and new aspiring artists will be in the forefront of a new sound. We are as well, highly enthusiastic and optimistic that the film will appeal to a wide demographic audience. 

 This truly hilarious romantic comedy was written BY this generation, ABOUT this generation, and FOR this generation. After the script, the greatest guarantee of a successful film is its cast and crew. Combined with Major Stars and marketable names, and a cast of accomplished discovered actors and actresses in the motion picture industry from the top acting schools in New York City and Los Angeles will be included. The crew is far from being undiscovered, and we do not compromise any level of talent and experience that veterans of both the film and television industry posses.

 Once an independent film is completed, the greatest challenge is finding a profitable distribution network. As a result, most directors take their films to film festivals, such as Sundance. While various avenues remain open to us, we are depending upon the virtue of  our business associates, various executives and constituents to take our finished product directly to the big screen with distribution already provided. This will include several major distribution companies, which have already expressed interest. We have received overwhelming favorable responses to the written work via the press, media, and radio and have engendered standing invites to all of them for private viewing of the film once it is completed prior to its premiere.

 Investors are being offered a financial percentage of the net proceeds plus a fraction of points on the backend for the lifetime of the film. Normally a 10 years span. Point spread is based upon the amount that is invested. Letters Of Intent, Bonds Of Commitment and Non-Disclosers will be needed and the film budget is 40-50 million dollars. The marketable names playing roles of "The Mentor" must be put on retainer. A target date of completion and release will be set and announced at a very near future date. We hope you decide to come onboard with us as we ride a successful film into Nationwide Theatres near you.
